I am the proud daughter of a balloonatic. The artwork is a photo taken of me at the age of 9 in my father Joe’s art installation. I dressed in a black and burgundy little boy’s suit, cummerbund and all, and wore a gas mask from the military supply store. In the palm of my hand there was a pile of pink and purple gemstones. The room was filled to the top with oversized white balloons. Everyone who entered the installation and traveled deep inside of it would be greeted by me. I would hold out my hand and offer them a gem. I was met with many reactions; fear, confusion, pleasure. Get your kids off of their iPads and into your art installations. Shape our youth.
